Much of Kristin's work stems from her life-long fascination with the simple physicality of the earth. She remembers finding fulfilment as a child digging holes and miniature canals in backyards and filling them with water, creating new landscapes in the land itself.
It is in this spirit that Kristin forges an intimate relationship with the earth, using photography as a tool for observation and examination of its elements and her deep-rooted connection to them.
Kristin Allmer lives and works in the United States. She has recently obtained a BFA degree in Fine Art from William Paterson University of New Jersey, in addition to a BA degree in Communications earned earlier in her academic career.
At present she spends her time between the scrubby dunes of the Jersey Shore and the mountainous regions of northern New Jersey gaining artistic inspiration from the different geographies.
